FOUR SELECTED WORKS AT THE CORNER STORE DUNEDIN, NEW ZEALAND.
Greaves’ paintings are an investigation that is both deliberate and intuitive, about the relationships we have to memory and the digital landscape.
Data Generator and cache are terms usually associated with bits and computer processes, Greaves uses these, referencing the act of storing and reinterpreting data, the daily practice navigating the multiplicities and hidden moments of our relationships with the digital age.
Mirroring this idea using paint, a traditional mode of representation, these works serve to make permanent misremembered things and objects, open for new interpretations.
‘If you speak for the wolf, speak against him as well’ is a body of work in production for show early in 2024 at Olga Gallery Dunedin.
